Cash Management and Handling Course

 

Background to the Course

 

This course is designed for staff who handle cash and manage its counting, safe keeping and end of day operations. It applies to a retail or semi-retail environment for staff at entry and mid-levels. It is also designed for hospitality staff and those dealing in frequent transactional purchases across a counter.

 

The course provides a practical and theoretical framework for learners to gain a better understanding of cash operations, their sequence and inter-relationships with the goal of improving cash handling operations.

 

The course also covers the use of EFTPOS terminals and the relationship between cash and the use of point of sale equipment.

 

Target Audience

 

The course is targeted at staff dealing with cash over the counter or those in a transactional sale environment. The course does not provide legal advice and does not use hardware such as cash registers, EFTPOS terminals or point of sale equipment. The class is conducted in a classroom environment using a whiteboard and slides and sample cash notes and coins.
